On February 1st, 2019, I started writing a memoir. Six months later I quit my job, put my belongings in storage and embarked on a writer’s journey, housesitting as the story unfolded. While I wrote, life went on around me. I changed locations a dozen times. People close to me died. Babies were born. Friendships strengthened; others waned. I went through a lot of coffee beans. Miraculously, along the way, No One in Their Right Mind came into existence. Through mindful revision it continues to grow and change, tentatively coming into its own like a curious child. Come to think of it, so am I.
Excerpt ~ No One in Their Right Mind
Undying love. Poetry. A promise of forever. It was all there waiting for her if she was willing to take a chance. When Carol says yes to a marriage proposal after a whirlwind courtship with the man who was her late friend’s husband, she believes destiny has brought them together. But her storybook life soon takes a disturbing turn and she becomes swept up in a dangerous, sexually-twisted world, desperate to find her way back to the life of her dreams and the man who had promised to give it to her.
